Christmas and Sleep

Well Christmas came and went and Drakkin had no clue or even cared. He slept through all of the present opening at both Grandparents homes.

Drakkin is starting to get a routine down and is making life easier for mom and dad. He really likes bath time until the water gets cold then he is ready to get out and eat and go to sleep.

Rachael and Patti are babysitting him during the week and so far there have been no major issues, thankfully. If all we have to worry about is a "hot wheels" car being dropped on his head then we can live with that. Patti discovered Drakkin really likes piano music and rides in the car, but the car MUST be moving. He will fuss at traffic lights and in slow traffic.

Drakkins health has improved overall, he gained four pounds since birth, his stomach issues are getting under control, and he is generally more happy. We did find out that he has thrush so we boiled all his bottles, and pacifiers. He takes mediactions very well even when we scrubbed his tongue all he did was give dad looks of " what are you doing."

All in all Drakkin is a very good baby and still gets strangers stopping to comment on how cute he is. Even the nurses at the doctors office know him by sight. With pictures like these who could say he isnt cute? ( and thanks to Patti and her family for the adorable hat)

1 Month Old

Well Drakkin is 1 month old now, and we have learned many lessons already. Like no sleep for parents and the baby rules the house now. So far we have survived bouts with colic, acid reflux, and formula problems. All of which can be very trying and stressful, but with the help of family we managed to not be committed yet. ( may be soon though)

Drakkin was blessed on Dec 2 by my father. His grandma made the cutest outfit for him and got a ton of "awww"s from the rest of the members.

He is starting to become very opinionated and if he doesn't like something he will let you know.

We had a minor scare last night as he slept for almost 5 hrs at once, and then when he woke up he was "starving" or so he thought. This was the first time he has ever slept more than 3-4 hrs, so when we woke up we kinda startled awake when we saw the time.

Drakkin is beginning to make those adorable faces for mommy and daddy now and even pretends to be asleep, but as soon as you look away he opens his eyes and looks around then closes them real quick when you look back.

First Night at Home

Well were to start....

Very little sleep as we have to wake Drakkin up every 3 hrs to feed him, but he was only fussy once and then promptly fell asleep again.

I never thought that having a child would change your life so quickly, but everything is all about "Big Man" now. I also figured out that I cant hold him ALL the time and I actually have to put him down at some point so my arms don't fall off.

He is doing much better we kept him bundled up through the night and his temp was just fine. He eats like a teenager already, except when he has hiccups then he doesn't want to eat at all.

Funniest thing he did so far was burp so loud he scared himself then promptly made an upset face at mommy.

Drakkin has been termed "big man" by his aunt Esther, since he is by far the smallest baby in the family. We all hope he will grow into his nickname.

Drakkin has stolen the hearts of anyone who has seen him at the hospital. Comments like " he is so precious" or " he is so adorable" seem to follow him where ever they see him.

He is gaining some weight now and is eating more to put some "meat" on those bones so he wont have "old man knees" as his aunts like to laugh about.

A Drakkin is born

Thursday November 8, 2007 at 6:20 PM (MST) Drakkin was born to parents Ronnie and Adam.
He was Born at 5lbs 2.8 oz and was 17 inches long.

His temperment is already like a dragon as it takes a lot to make him upset, but when he gets mad he is roaring mad. He had problems with eating enough to keep his body temp up, so they put him under warming lamps. ( sounds more and more like a dragon) He now eats a lot more and is starting to get some baby fat on him.

Drakkin already plays tricks on his parents like pretending to be asleep while he is eating.

Both parents are very proud and ready to bring him home where he can terrorize the cats.
